ICD (Institute for Career Development) Cleveland provides learning opportunities for members of United Steelworkers Local Union 979 employed at the ArcelorMittal Cleveland Works. This program is co-chaired by ArcelorMittal Cleveland General Manager Eric Hauge and USW Local Union 979 President Mark Granakis. The Local Joint Working Committee members are Joe Maslocha (power house),Grover Russell (MEU: water treatment,and Debbie Santora (labor relations). Training Coordinator Shirley Pasholk administers the program.

• ICD Computer Lab
The Computer lab features some of the latest software applications and training in many of the Microsoft Office programs. There are also open lab periods on Fridays where workers can receive additional class training, check e-mail or polish up any of their computer skills.

During our fall 2007 Digital Photography session our students were introduced to Digital Photography and learned many of the techniques used by professional photographers. ICD sponsored field trips to the Zoo, Botanical Gardens, Rainforest and Downtown Cleveland yielded the excellent photographs contained in our gallery.

USW collective bargaining agreements set the pattern for hundreds of thousands of workers in dozens of industries. Union contracts do more than raise wages and deliver an array of benefits such as pensions, health care and vacations.
